Rodolphe Coster, a Belgian indie musician, performer, DJ and former member of several bands (Flexa Lyndo, Baum, Poni, Cafeneon), now works solo and with BAND, mixing subtle introspection with contemporary and vintage references (e.g., Fever Ray, Spacemen 3, My Bloody Valentine, Suicide, the Jesus and Mary Chain). Likened by some as a crossroads linking the Big Pink and Autechre, Coster’s tracks span from ambient pop to trans-genre music (electronica, punk, techno, indus, shoegaze). He is also composer for performing arts. Coster recently composed the music for STROKE, a contemporary dance production performed by Ben Fury and Louise Michel Jackson, and subsequently, received the 2016 SABAM AWARD in the category of Musical Composition for Performing Arts. Coster will did issue an EP “PLANTE” via the label LE PACIFIQUE RECORDS. This single track with remixes by CRISTIAN VOGEL (Super_Collider, NovaMute) and SYLVAIN CHAUVEAU. Coster recorded a full band album in New York (Studio G Brooklyn) to be released in 2022, accompanied by Maya Postepski - a.k.a. Princess Century - on drums, BOY TOY girls on vocals, Sunwatchers saxophonist Jeff Tobias and produced by Male Gaze's leader and Castle Face Records label manager Matt Jones. Coster worked as guitarist on the latest album by DOGBOWL ("Zone of Blue"), the New York artist and musician, and is an occasional bassist for MALE GAZE (Castle Face Rcrds), the group from California. Coster did support acts for GRIMES-BLACK DICE-GOLD PANDA-SAUL WILLIAMS-OH SEES-LIARS among many others... and did perform in Europe and in US, an did 3 tours in Japan where he has some close collaborators: Ukawa Naohiro (Dommune funder) and Atsuko Hatano. Coster was promoter of CHAFF, club located in the famous Marolles. He booked and promoted gigs from bands all around, every mondays. He is also active in Brussels4Lebanon, group of action supporting artists based in Beirut. Rodolphe is resident DJ at LE ROI DES BELGES, downtown Brussels club and bar, located Place St Géry.
