Canadian-born and Belgium-settled, Rob Macleod assembles lo-fi ambient tape loops using discarded cassette tapes and repaired 1990s four-track recorders. Those analog loops are filled with field recordings and lo-fi instruments run through a series of cheap pedals. The result is a texture perhaps best described as "friendly noise" shaped by tape imperfections, nostalgic aesthetics, and physical wear.
The focus of this Kiosk Radio performance will be loops made with his 7 year old son, who has a keen ear for sounds in public and telling his Dad "you should put that on your tapes".
