Kaohsiung-based DJ and vinyl collector Vicki brings her debut 10" vinyl (SDM-001) to Brussels as part of her Europe hifi vinyl tour, weaving a hybrid set of Taiwanese downtempo folk on her label 鹽埕區長 salt district mayor - vintage Hokkien pressings, rare Taiwanese new wave cinema soundtracks, and her own electronic revisions of Taiwanese folk songs. Vicki Huang is a Taiwanese-American, Kaohsiung-based musician, DJ, and vinyl storyteller focused on the preservation and revival of Taiwanese folk music across generations. Their work explores diasporic memory through sound, reimagining archival materials with contemporary downtempo and electronic grooves.
