Born and raised in Paris, with Malian and Polish heritage, Bambounou (Jérémy Guindo de Montalembert) emerged in the early 2010s as one of the leading voices of a new French electronic scene, as part of the YounGunZ and ClekClekBoom collectives. He cut his teeth behind the decks at iconic venues like Social Club and Concrete, sculpting a fluid, unruly sonic language: grounded in the discipline of hypnotic house, fractured by IDM-like rhythmic disjunctions, and driven by a constant sense of tension.
