Chernobyl is a Brazilian collective that reclaims the term “Chernobyl,” used pejoratively against marginalized communities, as a symbol of resistance and empowerment. Originating in São Paulo, the collective hosts traveling parties that elevate Black, LGBTQIA+, and independent artists, fostering community, self-management, and representation. Through support networks and shared knowledge, Chernobyl transforms stigma into strength, challenging societal norms and celebrating dissident identities.
