King Kami is the artist name of Kamila Ferreira, a Brazilian DJ living in Lisbon. Kamila began her career in 2015 in the duo Caravagyo and the “Noites Medusa” evenings that they organised. Resident on Radio Quantica (Lisbon), her sets explore the music of northeast Brazil, inspired by the romanticism of synths, brega rhythms and mixed with funk. A musical trend from which she draws more and more inspiration, introducing the raw aspect of her lyrics and the stories that funk music addresses to her sets. She produced for the first time a track in 2021 on the Peladinha compilation from the Torcida label, and a new track in 2022 released in preview by the collective Les Yeux Orange. A new remix EP was released in spring 2023, and she played at festivals as prestigious as Sonar, Primavera, Trans Musicales, Horst, Roskilde and Dour.
