Taking inspiration from A.K. Ramanujan’s seminal essay 300 Ramayanas which is currently banned in many Indian Universities, Aniketh’s show is an effort to tell an alternate narrative that unsettles the monolithic conception of “indian” epics like the Ramayanas. Unlike the simple story being told currently by the establishment and its use in justifying violence against minorities, Aniketh will bring some strands of alternate voices, anachronistic elements, and oral traditions and attempt to present an epic in all its incoherence, beauty and complexity.
