Hommybird’s music dives headfirst into the kaleidoscopic psyche of its creator - vocalist and DJ Melle Homminga. “I come here to clear my mind” declares Homminga on ‘Hoofd in de Wolken’. The philosophy students’ tracks and DJ sets function as nostalgic snapshots, or rather as collages of late-night DM’s, voice memos and memories of a post-club sunrise. In his latest work Melle draws influence from shoegaze, early 2000’s trance and pensive art-pop alike Everything But The Girl and David Sylvian. The rising artist's first creative endeavours can be traced back to an early age, when he co-founded the now-defunct collective Ozsipark, together with like-minded young dreamers in his hometown, Beverwijk.
