Mikael El Rojo is a record collector from Paris. He curated a selection of music from Guinea Conakry between 1961 and 1984.

After its independence in 1958, the musical landscape in the country has been completely reshaped thanks to a program from its new government. Among the different rhythms and styles played and developed during that next prolific period, talented artists have notably played funky, latin-influenced, deep and percussive rhythms.

This show is the result of a deep exploration into Guinean music. Music commercialized on vinyl on the label “Editions Syliphone Conakry '' but also music digitalized directly from master tapes during the “Syliphone Archive '' project. This show will introduce you to some of the best grooves of Guinea, fueled with spirituality, emotions and latin rhythms.
